This year I decided I wanted to start stepping out of my comfort zone a bit! I had been going back and forth for a while about attending a photography conference, but I really wanted to make sure I made the right choice as they are a big investment. There are so many opportunities to learn! After chatting with many photographers all over to hear their experiences, I finally made the choice to attend Conference 12, the High School Senior Photography Conference- this year in Denver!
I will admit, I was very nervous. I have a 2 year old and had never left him overnight before…plus, as you may have read about here, I booked a wedding I just couldn’t say no to and had to make arrangements to fly home in between the conference to shoot it…and then fly BACK! But, I was also excited to experience a new city and state, along with my good friend Janea, who shot THIS VIDEO about our experience! And yes, I was uber excited to meet several of the speakers/teachers who I have been following for a while- yep, Holli- I’m talking about you!
I gained so much knowledge about how I want to better run my business, and how to improve the overall client experience! Things are really coming together and this conference just solidified so many questions I had! Just you wait, things are about to get really good!
So, aside from the classes and the awesome new friends I met, we also got to participate in several styled shoots. I was so bummed to learn I would miss the shoots on Saturday, due to flying home, BUT…the shoots on Friday? Yeah, totally awesome! I have been wanting to do something cool with a VW van and this hit the spot!
I can’t wait to go back to Denver, what a beautiful city!
