I grew up in Healdsburg and remember fondly the Christmas my Mom gifted my cousin and I a week of camp at Thunderbird Ranch! I was so excited to ride a horse, go swimming, and buy a Skipper ( was that a knock off Dr Pepper back in the 90’s? I just remember the name because it was Barbie’s daughters name! lol) from the General Store! Fast forward to earlier this year when I got an email from Annette, who’s daughter was going to be married there, asking if I could do the photography for their wedding at Thunderbird Ranch. Wow, things have changed a bit!
Funny story about this referral- Annette works at my daughter’s school, and apparently found out I was a photographer from one of Meghan’s teachers! I better watch out, Meghan will start asking for commission!
I will admit that this wedding will definitely top the charts as one of the HOTTEST! It was 101 degrees! I know there are many Arizonians and Texans who would just laugh at me for complaining (my best friend from from college lived in Arizona for several years and came back to California for my wedding in September where it was about 75 degrees and she was shivering!) but I am a true Northern California girl and there wasn’t enough water around! That said, everyone powered through so well. It was a beautiful ceremony! As always, my favorite part of the day was the toasts! The best man and maid of honor did a wonderful job making us both laugh and cry.
Oh, and this group knows how to party! Some wedding receptions, you have drag people to the dance floor…not this one!
I hope you guys had a wonderful honeymoon, thank you for allowing me to document your special day!
And seriously, this group of vendors was so awesome to work with!
