Proposal at Kuleto Estate Winery | Saint Helena, California

One of the perks of my job is the chance I get to “tour” so many different locations that I might never have seen otherwise. This proposal at Kuleto Estate Winery was the perfect chance to explore more north of where I normally venture out for proposal shoots. Its just over an hours drive from Healdsburg, and then the drive from the gate is another 10 minutes or so. But, wow…totally worth it for the view! It’s tucked away just after Lake Hennessey, which I had never been by before, either. So fun to explore!

I think the hardest part for me while planning proposal shoots is timing my arrival correctly! I want to arrive in enough time to get set up and not feel rushed, but not so long that I start to pace and get nervous that I’m waiting in the wrong spot! lol. However, the scariest part of this proposal was actually getting stuck in traffic! I was sweating it each moment the clock ticked another minute more! Thankfully I had left about 10 minutes early so I was safe.

The plan was quite fun! Cole and Taylor took a private plane ride from LA to the city, and then toured a few wineries. Taylor had a sneaking suspicion something was up when Cole kept mentioning how this area always had photographers around since it was so beautiful…and yet until they “met” me, they hadn’t seen even 1! But the great part of him prepping her for seeing a photographer was that I didn’t have to hide! I just pretended to take photos of the view, and then when they arrived, my real work began!

I loved exploring the beautiful property with them afterwards. Kuleto’s tasting room is by appointment only, and the advantage to that was that we basically had the place to ourselves! Its so gorgeous out there! It was a bit humid, but the trees all around did a great job of keeping things cool.

**Congrats, you two! It was such a pleasure!

Lastly, let me just mention something here…girls, you have no idea just how much time and preparation goes into these things. The emails, the calls, the scheduling and timing it all out. I’m truly impressed with how much these men want this moment to be special!
