I love it when I get the chance to photograph someone in their natural environment…it means they will feel more comfortable in their surroundings, which in turn means that they will be more relaxed for their session. So I was really excited when Julie said she would like to do her Santa Rosa engagement photography shoot on the farm she grew up on (which is also where they will be getting married!)
I arrived about 1 hour before sunset, and to say the property was beautiful is an understatement! Have you ever driven on the freeway, and you see rolling hills on either side? The ones that go for miles and miles? Yep, that’s what I got to work with…happy girl over here!
Julie showed me around the property first, pointing out spots she really liked…and I got right to work!
LOVE these colors!
Then I made a comment about how I would love to pose them sitting on a bail of hay…Ed runs into the barn, and the next thing you know, he has the tractor out, moving a bail right where I wanted it! Then I just HAD to get them on the tractor! Julie said her Dad would get a kick out of that…this ended up being one of my favorite images of the whole session!
These two are so fun! And Ed even humored me and posed ever so cowboy’ish next to the fence for a nice head shot 😉
Two things I love about these set of photos: Julie’s laugh and all these old metal fences…oh, yeah…and barns. Have I mentioned how much I love barns? 😉
These hills…that old fence…I could have stood out there forever! It really is a breathtaking backdrop. I can’t wait to use it again for the wedding!
