Destination Wedding at Dreams Resort in Huatulco | Oaxaca, Mexico

Well, I finally learned how to pronounce Huatulco correctly (at least, as much as a white girl from California can!) and my husband and I survived the crazy humidity! So happy to have crossed an item off my bucket list- a Destination Wedding at Dreams Resort in Huatulco!Thats where the story gets just a little bit crazy. If you follow me on social media, you already know that our luggage never made it to Mexico (we did get it back once we got home...I was SO happy to wear normal, clean clothes again!) and that we didn't make it on the first flight...which of course made a ripple effect on the rest of our travel! BUT!!! We made it in time to enjoy a Pina Colada, order room service, and photograph the wedding the next day! This was my first time using a passport! And man, we used it a LOT! I'm so thankful Tim was there to help navigate the airports, and to give odd glances to when something interesting was going on. lol. When we finally made it to Huatulco, we stepped off the plane and the humidity hit...HARD. Holy cow, guys! I have never sweat so much! I'm so thankful for the air conditioning in the rooms at the resort! It also made the pools look that much more welcoming :)I was so honored that Lauren and Bryan asked me to be their photographer! I had met them several years back when I did a family session for them and they have the best extended family! I knew this wedding would be such an amazing experience! So many favorite moments- Mom, Aunt and Bride giggling on the bed before she put on her dress, Bryan seeing Laurel for the first time as she walked down the isle, Laurel's surprise vows to Bryan's son Alex (yep, I bawled like a baby!), the toasts where the bride's Mom admitted to telling Bryan she loved him before Laurel even had! But the best of all? When the whole wedding jumped in the pool in their wedding attire at the end of the night! Also, for any Friends fans out there- the DJ was cracking me up all night! He was playing great songs, and would randomly mix a song to the next song by doing something similar to what Ross does when he plays the keyboard! I was laughing, and looked over at one of the guests who was doing the same thing and we both yelled "Ross" at the same time. I was definitely with my people!Lesson learned for my next destination/ travel wedding? Pack a change of clothes (including a swim suit and flip flops) in my carry-on! I'm so excited for our next travel adventure in November...this time, Texas!! Look out, Chip & Joanna, here we come!!
