Yountville Proposal Session | Surprise Proposal at French Laundry

Any Harry Potter fans out there? Remember his Invisibility Cloak? Yeah, I would have loved to have been able to borrow that for this session!

David reached out to me the day before this, as his original plans had fallen through and he needed a very last minute photographer to capture him proposing to his girlfriend, Robynn. I had called his phone to chat, and later got a very cryptic voicemail message, basically saying that he couldn't talk because "she" was there. To text him and he would give me the info I needed. I joked with my husband that this was either a rouse and I would get there and no one would show, or he really meant business!

The next morning, I got a text telling me they had landed at SFO from Texas, and it was "GO TIME"...may sound dorky, but it felt very fun to be a part of this plan!

My husband decided to come with me and make a fun trip out of it, so he dropped me off at the location and then I tried my best to stay incognito and wait for them to arrive. David had texted me a photo of the two of them, along with a photo of the dress she would be wearing, so it made my job a bit easier

They arrived at the French Laundry gardens, and walked until David found the perfect spot, where he took a knee and popped the question! (It was so romantic, and such an amazing feeling to be able to document this moment for them! I loved her reaction, the way she immediately hugged and kissed him :)

One of my favorite moments was capturing him letting her in on the fact that he had a photographer there! He really had thought of everything- savoring every moment, her hugging and kissing him and then pulling back to show her shock and excitement that yes, this really did just happen! The gardens there are beautiful, and so is this couple!

Then we walked across the street to The French Laundry restaurant where they had lunch reservations...what a beautiful location! Truly a photographer dream to be able to take photos here! And that ring! That box! It all was so perfect!

One last photo op before they headed in for lunch, and for Robynn to get a chance to grill David about how he planned and executed this grand adventure!Congratulations, it really was an honor!
